Virtually All Main and Most Secondary Roads Closed in

Great Smoky Mountains National Park has announced that virtually all main and most secondary roads are closed this morning in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Main roads closed are:
Newfound Gap Road (U.S. 441) between Gatlinburg, TN and Cherokee, NC
• The Gatlinburg Bypass
• Little River Road
• Laurel Creek Road west of the Tremont Road Jct
• Cades Cove Loop Road
• Foothills Parkway East (Cocke County)
• Foothills Parkway West (Blount County)

Secondary Roads:
• Cherokee Orchard Road
• Greenbrier Road
• Cataloochee Entrance Road
• Old Rt. 284

The Gatlinburg - Pigeon Forge Spur (U.S. 441) is open and heavily salted but has a few slushy spots.

Mt. LeConte Lodge reported 17" of new snow early Wednesday morning.

Rangers measured 12" of new snow at Newfound Gap with blowing and drifting.
