Big Creek Group Campground is located close to Newport, Tennessee and offers tent camping only. The Big Creek Group Camp is located in the Big Creek area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Sites available on a first-come, first served basis. There are 12 sites for tents only. The campground sits at an elevation of 1,700 feet. There are no electric hookups or shower facilities, only running water and bathroom facilities.

There are lots of hiking and fishing opportunities in the vicinity and the Appalachian Trail can be easily reached via the 2.1 mile Chestnut Branch Trail.

This shaded, 25-person group site has 6 picnic tables, 2 large fire rings, 1 small grill and four tent pads (three 16' x 16' and one 12' x 12'). Parking is limited to 4-6 vehicles. Full service grocery stores and medical facilities are 16 miles away in Newport, TN.

Directions: Take I-40 East from Newport, TN approx. 16 miles. Exit I-40 at exit 451 (Waterville). Follow the road past the Walters Power Generating Station to a 4-way intersection. Continue straight through and follow signs to the group camp.
